Description
Product Description The Schneider Acti9 xC60 is a commercial and industrial-grade miniature circuit breaker designed to safeguard three-phase electrical systems against short circuits and current overloads. As a 3-Pole (3P) device, it is configured to switch and protect all three live phase wires simultaneously, cutting off power instantly if a fault occurs on any single line. Key Features 3-Pole Configuration: Ideal for standard three-phase power setups where neutral protection at the breaker level is not required. 16A Current Rating: Engineered to safely handle a continuous electrical load up to a maximum of 16 Amps. C-Curve Tripping Profile: Designed to trip when it senses current between 5 to 10 times its standard rating. This curve allows it to handle the brief, normal current surges that happen when inductive machinery starts up without causing nuisance tripping. High Breaking Capacity (15kA): Capable of safely interrupting massive fault currents up to 15,000A (under standard IS/IEC 60947-2 regulations), protecting downstream infrastructure from severe explosive electrical failures. Standard DIN Rail Mount: Clips seamlessly onto standard 35mm wide DIN rails inside electrical distribution panels. Compatible Mechanisms and Systems Because this MCB serves as a foundational component in industrial electricity distribution, it is built to interface directly with specialized panel hardware and machine loads: 1. Panel Hardware & Accessories Compatibility Distribution Boards & Enclosures: Mounts inside three-phase electrical distribution boxes, industrial switchboards, and custom control panel arrays fitted with 35mm DIN rails. Comb Busbars: Fully compatible with Schneider’s 3-Phase pin or prong-style comb busbars, enabling neat, screw-tight power jumps across adjacent circuit breakers. Add-On Protection Blocks: Can be coupled side-by-side with Schneider Vigi xC60 earth leakage add-on modules to add Residual Current Device (RCD/ELCB) shock protection to the circuit. Auxiliary Signal Trips: Fits mechanically with Acti9 auxiliary contacts (iOF) to send a remote signal to an automation system or PLC when the breaker is manually turned off or trips. 2. Machinery and Electrical Loads It Protects A 3P 16A breaker is commonly used to supply and protect balanced three-phase mechanical devices, including: Three-Phase Induction Motors: Small industrial conveyor belt motors, exhaust ventilation fans, and material mixers drawing under 16A. Industrial Pumps: Three-phase submersible water pumps, coolant pumps, and hydraulic fluid pumps used in industrial plants. Light Machining Tools: Workshop equipment such as small commercial air compressors, industrial pillar drills, and band saws. Commercial HVAC Units: Centralized air conditioning compressors, fan coil units, and dedicated space heating arrays.
