Description
Product Description: Selec 900VPR Digital Voltage Protection Relay The Selec 900VPR is an advanced, compact (35mm), DIN-rail mountable Digital Voltage Monitoring and Protection Relay engineered to safeguard electrical installations against network faults. Equipped with a clear, 3-digit backlit LCD screen and a true RMS measurement system, it actively monitors 3-phase 3-wire or 3-phase 4-wire power systems to ensure consistent operating conditions. It provides highly customizable trip settings, adjustable power-on/trip/recovery time delays, and features two independent programmable SPDT alarm relays to trigger safety protocols or sound alarms during a fault. Key Monitoring Functions Voltage Protection: Detects both Under-Voltage (UV) and Over-Voltage (OV) conditions. Frequency Protection: Monitors Under-Frequency (UF) and Over-Frequency (OF). Phase Anomalies: Automatically detects Phase Failure (loss), Phase Sequence (reversal), and Phase Asymmetry. System Integrity: Safeguards against neutral loss (on specific sub-models like the 900VPR-BL-U). Compatible Mechanisms & Machinery Because this protection relay acts as a “watchdog” for electrical power quality, it is compatible with a vast array of industrial machinery and mechanisms. However, it cannot stop a machine directly by itself; it must be wired to trigger a control device like an electrical contactor, magnetic starter, or motorized circuit breaker. It is highly compatible with, and essential for, the following industrial assets: 1. Three-Phase Electric Motors & Pumps Compatible Mechanisms: Submersible water pumps, industrial air compressors, exhaust fans, hydraulic power packs, and conveyor belt motors. Why it’s needed: Running a motor if a phase fails (“single-phasing”) or if voltage drops will cause immediate overheating and burn out the motor windings. Phase reversal protection also ensures the motor doesn’t rotate backwards and damage mechanical gears. 2. HVAC & Chiller Systems Compatible Mechanisms: Industrial chillers, commercial air conditioning compressors, and cooling towers. Why it’s needed: Fluctuating voltages or phase imbalance can severely stall or destroy expensive heavy-duty AC compressors. 3. Automated Manufacturing Line Mechanisms Compatible Mechanisms: Packaging machines, CNC machinery, plastics injection molders, and automated assembly equipment. Why it’s needed: Prevents erratic control signals, sensor failures, and mechanical damage to automated arms or gearboxes when power levels dip or spike. 4. Lift and Elevator Mechanisms Compatible Mechanisms: Electric hoists, passenger elevators, cranes, and escalators. Why it’s needed: Phase sequence monitoring is critical here; if the phases swap, a lift could travel up when the controller signals it to go down, posing a catastrophic safety hazard. 5. Control Panels & Main Distribution Boards Compatible Mechanisms: Main Power Switchboards, AMF (Automatic Mains Failure) panels, and ATS (Automatic Transfer Switches) feeding power to buildings or data centers.
