Description
The Naturewater NW-BR10F is a durable, high-pressure single-stage water filter housing designed for residential inline point-of-entry or point-of-use water treatment. Featuring a crystal-clear, heavy-duty Styrene-Acrylonitrile (AS) body, it allows for easy, at-a-glance monitoring of your filter cartridge’s condition without having to unscrew the system. It is engineered with a blue polypropylene top cap equipped with secure 1/2-inch brass-threaded inlet and outlet ports for reliable plumbing integration. The top cap also features a built-in red pressure-release valve (air release button), making routine maintenance and filter replacements quick, neat, and smooth by venting internal pressure before opening. Key Technical Specifications: Model: NW-BR10F (1/2″) Housing Size: Designed for standard 10-inch (254 mm) cartridges Port Size: 1/2″ Female Brass Thread Max Working Pressure: ~125 PSI to 250 PSI (Built with thicker walls for increased pressure burst resistance) Components Included: Clear housing bowl, mounting bracket, and a customized ring wrench. Compatible Mechanisms & Cartridge Types This housing follows the industry-standard 10″ x 2.5″ slim profile footprint, making it exceptionally versatile. It can be paired with almost any standard 10-inch water filtration mechanism depending on your specific water quality needs: 1. Sediment Filtration Mechanisms Spun Polypropylene (PP) Cartridges: Primarily used as a pre-filter to mechanically trap and remove dirt, rust, sand, silt, scale, and suspended particles down to 5 microns (μm). Wound Polypropylene Thread Cartridges: Ideal for heavy sediment loads, trapping particles through layered depth filtration. 2. Carbon-Based Adsorption Mechanisms Activated Carbon Block (CTO): Excellent for removing taste, odor, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), chlorine, and fine sediment down to 5 microns. Granular Activated Carbon (GAC/UDF): Utilizes loose carbon granules to heavily absorb chlorine, bad smells, and color organic compounds from municipal tap water. 3. Specialized Treatment Mechanisms Resin Water Softening Cartridges: Uses ion-exchange media inside a 10″ container to target calcium and magnesium ions, effectively preventing hard-water limescale buildup in appliances. Siliphos/Polyphosphate Anti-Scale Cartridges: Slowly releases food-grade polyphosphates to coat minerals and prevent corrosive scaling in your pipes. Ceramic Filter Cartridges: Offers sub-micron filtration (0.5μm) to physical block out micro-sediments, suspended solids, and common micro-bacterial organisms. Maintenance Note: To protect your seals and prevent leaks, it is highly recommended to use the included custom wrench to hand-tighten the housing, and remember to depress the red air release button before unscrewing it for cartridge replacements.
