Description
The 1/4″ L-Type Service Valve (commonly referred to as a liquid line valve, discharge valve, or mini-split stop valve) is a critical brass mechanical component mounted directly to the lower exterior chassis of an air conditioner or heat pump’s outdoor condensing unit. This valve regulates the flow of high-pressure refrigerant through the smaller 1/4-inch copper line set (the liquid line). It features a forged solid brass body paired with a pre-bent, right-angle (90 ∘ ) copper extension tube to allow for a clean, downward-facing connection when brazing lines. It includes a dedicated Schrader service access port protected under a threaded brass cap, allowing HVAC technicians to connect gauge manifolds to charge refrigerant, pull a vacuum, or read system pressures safely.
