Product Description: DS-1 Digital Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer & Clock The DS-1 is a pocket-sized, battery-powered digital temperature meter featuring a clear, split-level LCD display. It is uniquely equipped with two temperature sensors: an internal sensor built right into the housing to read local ambient temperature, and an external, waterproof metal probe attached to a long, thin cable to measure remote or submerged environments. With the push of a front-panel button, users can easily toggle the display between Celsius ( ∘ C) and Fahrenheit ( ∘ F), view the highest/lowest recorded temperature memory, or switch the secondary readout to display a 12/24-hour digital clock. Key Technical Features Dual Monitoring: Tracks “Indoor” (housing temperature) and “Outdoor” (probe temperature) simultaneously. Temperature Range: Measures from −50 ∘ C to +70 ∘ C (−58 ∘ F to +158 ∘ F). Sensor Probe: Includes a waterproof, small-profile NTC thermistor probe on an approximate 1-meter to 1.5-meter cable. Power Source: Operates entirely on a single standard 1.5V AAA battery, making it fully independent of grid power. Compatible Mechanisms & Equipment The DS-1 is a standalone passive monitoring gauge. It does not feature built-in relays to control power or turn machines on and off by itself. Instead, it is mounted onto or inside mechanisms to provide real-time thermal feedback for operators. It is highly compatible with the following applications: 1. Automotive & Vehicle Air Conditioning (A/C) Systems Compatible Mechanisms: Car dashboards, truck cabins, and air conditioning vent grills. Application: The main display unit is mounted to the dashboard using double-sided adhesive tape to read the cabin temperature. The long waterproof wire probe is routed directly inside an A/C vent or out the door seal to measure real-time external air temp or vent output efficiency. 2. Commercial Refrigeration & Cold Storage Compatible Mechanisms: Walk-in freezers, display fridges, ice cream bunkers, and medicine storage coolers. Application: The main display is mounted on the outside glass or door frame so staff can read the temperature safely at a glance, while the wired probe goes through the door gasket to sit directly inside the freezing zone without breaking the thermal seal. 3. Aquariums & Aquaculture Tanks Compatible Mechanisms: Fresh/saltwater fish tanks, coral reef nurseries, and hydroponic nutrient reservoirs. Application: The main housing sits dry on a nearby shelf or stand to display room temperature, while the completely waterproof external probe is suction-cupped underwater to ensure the aquatic life remains at an optimal, safe temperature. 4. Home & Office Weather Stations Compatible Mechanisms: Greenhouse control desks, grow tents, and server rack enclosures. Application: Provides an easy way to compare the climate inside a sensitive environment (like a server cabinet or indoor grow room) against the ambient room temperature outside of it.
