Because it contains zero moving mechanical parts, it eliminates the sparking, contact degradation, and audible clicking noises associated with traditional electromechanical relays. The relay uses an integrated optocoupler mechanism: when a low-power control signal is applied to the input side, an internal LED triggers a light-sensitive semiconductor (typically a TRIAC or thyristor), instantly completing the high-current output circuit.
